Field note 26Crimson Vow · Art and presentation

A courtyard of vows.

An illuminated courtyard, painted medallions and flowing blood magic bring the presentation closer to the chosen design. The next character models begin with separate production references.

Lantern Mire · Crimson presentation Closer to the painting v0.5.23
Ilveth is selected in a dark flooded courtyard, with a candlelit heart shrine, three other patron shrines, painted spell medallions and native game controls.
Exact 0.5.23 exported Godot picker. Generated background illustration and painted medallions sit beneath native controls; the small round portrait displays the current game wizard. The large painted figure is an illustration, not a newly generated mesh. Full frame, resized.

Shaun wanted the god picker to recover the richness of the original design and chose Crimson Vow as the first faction to push further. This build delivers the courtyard and spell presentation, alongside a prepared Meshy image pack. The wizard and three minion meshes are still the existing game models; their replacement is the next dependent step.

A place to choose a god

The selected Drowned Pantheon concept treated patron selection as a place: a wizard standing in wet ground, a shrine taking the light, and other powers waiting farther away. The previous implementation had drifted into a large model viewport beside a list of names. This pass restores the courtyard composition.

Each of the four existing patrons now has its own illustrated view with the chosen shrine brought forward. Native names and input targets follow those physical locations. Aged metal borders, circular medallions and warm reflections give the screen depth without putting its controls into the painting.

Hover or keyboard focus reveals the current cost and role. Clicking opens a persistent inspector containing the actual game effect or creature. Saved remappings, reduced motion and enlarged text remain connected; inspecting an ability creates no combat actor or soul economy.

The Heart of the Covenant inspector shows the actual red-thread effect, mana cost and healing rules beside the illustrated Ilveth shrine.

Give the next mesh a clear identity

The new reference pack contains seven selected images for five assets: front, side and back views of the Vein Cantor, plus the Oathling, Chalice Knight, Veinwraith and heart altar. They follow the chosen ivory masks, black iron, burgundy cloth and restrained gold. Empty hands and separated limbs make them more useful for modelling than the original ensemble painting.

Two early poses were revised because their legs or hanging details would make reconstruction and rigging harder. The wizard should be tested first, then viewed in Blender and at the ordinary game camera before generating the rest. A convincing image alone does not establish usable topology, animation or an in-game silhouette.

No Meshy conversion has been submitted for this pass. The references and request specifications are ready; API access is the remaining dependency. The existing wizard and minion rigs, animations and playable models are preserved.

Life along the red threads

Crimson magic now carries small travelling pulses along curved ribbons. Borrowed Pulse, Covenant and the Oathling's mending have a sculpted ritual heart; the Wraith's siphon travels back from its real target. Red Thread coils around the departure and arrival, while Needle impacts have a short separate burst.

The new heart was made from original geometry in Blender: unequal chambers, raised arteries and gilt restraints. Subtle ground mist, warm light and a heartbeat movement give the ritual more presence. The outer team boundary stays fixed so the decorative motion cannot suggest a different spell range.

The existing mana and health payments, warning duration, healing pulses, damage, sounds and eighteen-soul economy are unchanged. Reduced motion freezes a useful pose, and the finite effects still clean themselves up. This is a presentation pass, with character mesh quality still to come.

The Vein Cantor and three existing Crimson minions stand around a beating ritual heart as red pulses travel through curved threads during real healing and Wraith combat.
Five seconds of exact 0.5.23 exported-game frames, sampled at 20 fps from fixed 60 Hz. Three paid summons; positions and wounded health staged, wizard mana refilled, and rival/camp drivers disabled. Real finite spells and Wraith combat. This is a motion demonstration, not a manual playtest or performance measurement.

The next proof is a moving character

Affected source checks and checks against the exported Mac game passed, including Crimson's spell and economy rules, the other faction kits, picker interaction, saved controls, enlarged text and asset inclusion. Native Godot captures, standalone startup, signature and package checks accompany the saved build. The preceding build and original art remain intact.

Computer use remained unavailable on the locked Mac. Engine-rendered captures and synthetic input checks are separate from OS-driven interaction and human acceptance. Subjective audio, animation and visual judgement, physical Intel and Windows execution, and notarization remain unverified.

Next is one Vein Cantor conversion, cleanup and animation test. Only after that model reads well in the actual game should the three minions follow. The new courtyard and blood-magic pass are ready for Shaun to compare now.
